Cynthia Davis is a life member of VFW Auxiliary to John & Samuel Tyson-Wilbert-Walker Memorial Post 8509. She joined under the eligibility of her brother Army Veteran Jerome Fleming who served in the Vietnam War.
Sister Davis’ "WHY” is her brothers Erodius Fleming and Jerome Fleming. Both served in the Army and are Vietnam Veterans now deceased; Nephew SPC Herman Lloyd Palmer II served in the Army, also deceased; and SPC Larry Darnell Palmer served in the Army.
Sister Davis believes wholeheartedly in the VFW purpose of service for Veteran needs and her love for the mission of the VFW Auxiliary prompted her to become a life-time member. She also is a life member of the VFW National Home for Children.
Sister Davis has served in several offices on the Auxiliary level; 3 terms as Auxiliary President, and one term as Sr. Vice President & Chaplain.
On the District Level Sis. Davis served 3 terms as District 8 President and 2 terms as District 11 Jr. Vice President.
On Department Level Cynthia served as Maryland Department President for 2019-2020. Thanks to the hard work of her department, Cynthia was inducted into the VFW Auxiliary National Circle of Excellence. Cynthia was appointed Department Scholarship Chairman in 2017-18. Sister Davis was overwhelmed with a National First Place win in both Voice of Democracy and Patriot’s Pen. Also, she served as Deputy Rep for the Baltimore VAMC since 2014-2015 and now serves as Rep for the Department at Baltimore Greene St. VAMC.
Sister Davis is a member of Sho Crabbers #27 Military Order of the Cooties. Cynthia is a proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
